Low cost studio scheme for creative businesses launched at Here East

Here East, the campus for the creative and tech industries at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, has commissioned The Trampery to provide 10,000 sq ft of low cost space across 21 studios – approximately 80% of which will be earmarked for businesses based in Hackney Wick. All the units will be offered at rates which are affordable and attractive for artists and small creative businesses. As a testament to its creative community ethos, the scheme will be constructed using the WikiHouse system of open-source building plans.

Chief Executive of Here East, Gavin Poole, explains: “Over the past two years, the vision for The Trampery on the Gantry has taken shape, involving cutting edge design and construction techniques. The result is a truly ground breaking home for London’s artists and creatives.”
